BARE04DL: Debut full length of visceral, masticated industrial-strength electronic operations from the buckshot that is Half-Lifer. "Trigger Stacking" collects ten highly diverse yet perfectly uniform, suffocating rounds of hard-to-stomach bassline pressure, atonal atmosphere and crumbling riddim torque.

From the darting of dubwise, pebble-dashed shrapnels and throbbing subs of the opener "Sewer Probe" and "Shame Mask", through sinewy slap-snare-led roughneck pattern business of "Lurch" and "Status Dog Show", to utterly pulverized jaw-clenching grit of "Corrosion Company", this errand is not to be taken lightheartedly. But trust me, worth all the flinching cadavers and every bit of collateral damage.

Half-Lifer wrecks heads with a corrosive concoction that succeeds in disentangling itself from predictable traps such as 4x4 techno or drum-and-bass, but there's also something in its warped character and timbre that righteously pins it down as a fallout of the UK post-rave praxis. The exceptional, juddering dub production coupled with a devilish knack for hostile and modern rhythms will dead sure catch the ear of both bassbin heads and industrial advocates.

Summa summarum — something truly feral and ugly is gushing out of this lot...
